Most cruise passengers have a positive experience. However, problems can and do happen, especially with a large company like Carnival Cruise Line.
There have been several recent news stories about problems with Carnival cruises. In 2019, a Carnival ship was quarantined after hundreds of passengers and crew members fell ill. In 2018, a Carnival ship had to be towed back to port after a fire broke out in the engine room. And in 2017, a Carnival ship crashed into a dock in Cozumel, Mexico.
